| O&O SafeErase - Product
Information |
 |
| |
|
|
O&O SafeErase offers a reliable solution for safe deletion
of security-sensitive files and gives you the ultimate
in data protection. With O&O SafeErase, even hackers
and data spies cannot restore your safely erased files.
O&O SafeErase does not simply delete your files; it
annihilates them using approved and recommended methods.
If Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP is your operating
system, you can now prevent unauthorized access to your
supposedly deleted data and files. |
| |
| Even deleted files can be
restored |
|
| |
There are numerous motives
for the deletion of files. Any deletion, however, should
protect unauthorized persons from accessing old e-mails,
internet browser history, file cache, financial data,
company information and private information. Unfortunately,
in reality the deletion routines in Windows only delete
the primary file attributes in order not to compromise
performance. Emptying your recycle bin and overwriting
the hard drive with new data does not mean that nobody
can access your old data anymore. Even though the deleted
files are not displayed, the information is still saved
on the drive. A person using specialized software like
O&O UnErase and hardware would most likely be able
to restore what was thought to be deleted information.
In order to completely prevent restoration, O&O
SafeErase is the only answer. O&O SafeErase runs
under Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. |

| Entire System Deletion at
the Touch of a Button with O&O TotalErase |
|
| |
| As a first in its field, O&O SafeErase
V2.0 offers the user a completely new feature: The new
fully-integrated "O&O TotalErase" Assistant now allows
the deletion of an entire system including the System
Partition. After restarting the computer, the deletion
process automatically begins. No boot disk or similar
is required, greatly simplifying this process for you,
but most importantly giving you the peace of mind that
your deleted files are securely erased. |
| |
| Deletion of Free Disk Space |
|
| |
| O&O SafeErase offers users the additional
ability to overwrite, or "wipe", open disk space
on your individual hard disk partitions. With this feature,
O&O SafeErase ensures security for those data already
supposedly deleted by the user. |
| |
| Five methods for your safety |
|
| |
O&O SafeErase gives the user a
choice of five different methods of deletion to satisfy
a variety of needs. The methods of deletion differ in
the number of times a file is overwritten and in the
type of overwriting process used. These methods guarantee
the maximum security, whatever your need may be. In
addition to the standardized methods of erasure from
the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the German
Department for Security in Information Technology (BSI,
Bundesamt fur Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik),
you can choose the Gutmann method, which is appropriate
for matters requiring the highest security. This scientifically
approved method of data erasure overwrites the appropriate
corresponding areas of the hard disk 35 times following
precisely defined rules. As a result, O&O SafeErase
exceeds the requirements of DoD and BSI.
